Friends of Sierra STEM

Become a Friend of Sierra STEM!

Through our Friends of Sierra STEM community sponsorship program, local businesses, organizations, and individuals can directly support STEM education in Mono and Inyo Counties while being recognized as champions for youth learning and outdoor exploration. We welcome both cash donations and in-kind gifts so that you can find a way to support that works best for you or your business.

Purpose

Through immersive, place-based, hands-on, experiential education programming, Sierra STEM connects students to the breathtaking landscapes of the Sierra Nevada while building curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking. While our programs serve students from across California and the United States, our “Friends of Sierra STEM” Community Sponsorship Program specifically maintains our strong commitment to local accessibility through substantial program subsidies and scholarships for Mono and Inyo County families and through the development and execution of programming for local students. In other words, every dollar directly supports local programs for local kids.

Sponsorship levels range from $500 to $10,000. Cash and in-kind contributions (e.g., equipment, supplies, food, lodging) count toward sponsorship recognition, as do raffle prizes and auction items (e.g., gift certificates, swag, experiences, lodging stays, artwork, or themed items for gift baskets), which we use at silent auctions and raffles during events throughout the year.

We would be honored to recognize you, your business, or your organization as part of our growing community of supporters. We hope you’ll consider partnering with us as we inspire the next generation of scientists, leaders, explorers, and environmental stewards!

Your sponsorship helps fund:

  • Science equipment and program materials

  • Food and transportation for program participants

  • Scholarships and subsidies for local students

  • Outdoor STEM day camps and multi-day field programs

  • Field trips, assemblies, and workshops for local schools

  • Environmental education throughout the Eastern Sierra

Supporting Sierra STEM allows partners to:

  • Invest in local youth and education

  • Demonstrate community leadership

  • Gain positive recognition among families, schools, and visitors to the Eastern Sierra
