Summer Camps
Key Info for All 2026 Summer Camps
Choosing the Correct Camp
Please double-check the age range for a camp before registering your child.
Grade ranges for each camp are for the grade your child is going into for the 2026-27 school year.
Kids entering kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year must ALSO have turned 5 before the first day of camp.
Cost of Summer Camps
When registering for a camp, select from Mono/Inyo resident, nonresident, scholarship, or waitlist.
Mono & Inyo County residents: $50 per student per week of day camp, $100 per student for backpacking camps
Nonresidents: $350 per student per week of day camp, $500 per student for backpacking camps
There is no charge to join a waitlist; payment for camp is due when you register
Scholarships are available for Mono/Inyo County residents who would otherwise not be able to enroll. Simply select “scholarship” when registering for camp through our online store, or email info@sierrastem.org to sign up using a scholarship. Scholarships open on March 15 during in-person registration and on March 16 online.
Refund policy: Please double-check your family’s calendar and the age ranges for camp before registering!
Through May 31, we will offer an 80% refund of your registration fee if you have to cancel for any reason. (The remaining 20% covers the credit card transaction fees and administrative time required to manage the registrations and waitlists.)
From June 1 onward, no refund is possible for a canceled registration.
Residency Policy
Our camps are generously sponsored by local organizations whose goal is to support Mono/Inyo County residents through discounted registration fees. At Sierra STEM, Mono/Inyo County residency means that your family lives in the area full time and your child attends school or is homeschooled in Mono or Inyo County. If your child attends school elsewhere, you are considered a non-resident for the purposes of summer camp registration. Why do we have this policy?

About Sierra STEM Summer Camps
Sierra STEM offers a suite of science-focused day camps for kids during July and August, set in June Lake and Lee Vining, CA.
The goal of our camps has always been to provide science enrichment programs and daytime childcare for our local families during the summer. Since their inception, we have expanded enrollment to allow space for visiting kids as well.
The specific camps we offer change each year, but perennial favorites include Brain Camp, focusing on the nervous system of humans and other animals; STEAM Camp, which teaches environmental issues through the lens of hands-on art projects; and Explorations of Wilderness, our popular introduction to backpacking. Camps usually run Monday through Friday. Check out these links from years past for a flavor of our programs:
